There’s no way this can be free money.
Yup, there we go. I think that’s biweekly, too. Depending on your interest rate, it could be a good deal, but I’m betting that it’s not.

And you probably get jack if you want to pay cash and not utilize Ford’s in-house financing. They push that shit like crazy, in fact they pushed me straight out the door with it!

Only thing I owe money on is muh house! I have made questionable decisions in the past, though. Like going to college on credit with no idea what I was doing... $40k in debt by the time I was 22 with a 2.0 GPA and nowhere near a degree. Kids, don’t go to college.

Looks like they’re assuming bi-weekly payments.
According to my math, $32 bi-weekly for a $5k loan works out to 2% interest on a 7 yr loan and 5.25% on an 8 yr loan.
They also have a truck in the ad for $37,999 or $269 bi-weekly. That works out to 5% interest on a 7 yr loan and 8% on an 8 yr.

This is a Canadian dealership and the $$$ is Canadian, not US.
If too many people hit a moose on the way to hockey practice in their new trucks with 96 month loans and $5k shopping spree cash-outs attached to them, then the world economy may be in jeopardy .

Kids, don’t go to college.
Kids don’t squander an expensive oppor tunity.

Touche. I mean it in the same way I’m against “rock the vote” and other such nonsense. If you’re concerned with politics and you’re educated with how the system works, vote. If MTV telling you to vote during Teen Mom is the only reason you even know there’s an election, stay home. If you’re an average student but you’re good with your hands and haven’t figured out what to do with your life yet, don’t take out tens of thousands of dollars to go to a university. Despite what the guidance counselor says, “go to college” isn’t always the answer.

Too late for that. We’re just waiting to see how bad it is this time.

One of the reasons I’m hoping to get things settled with a prospective before EOY. It’s a place that I liked before, folks I know I like working with, work I like doing, and more importantly? Not likely to collapse when the bubble bursts.

Ha, yea... worse than most kind of happens when you’re a first world country, but the US is barely in the top 10...

High incomes comes with higher debt which is why it’s used as a metric.

Add $32 to get 5k off... Let’s see, assume payments every two weeks, so 26 per year, assume 7 year financing, so 182 payments, that’s $5824 over the life of the loan. I’ll have to pass thanks

Is there ever anything coming from a dealership which is truly "free"?

As someone who is planning on getting a million and a half things dealt with on my vehicle? No.
![]() 12/07/2018 at 00:46 |

I mean, that’s not a bad interest rate at all. The real problem comes when give a worse deal on the car or on trade ins , and assume (probably correctly) people will accept that because they are excited to get this money that feels basically free.
